Superintendent Johnson,
I attended the open house at North Pointe Prep last night and I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how very
impressed I was with the school. After 5 minutes of listening to you speak I knew that North Pointe was exactly the
right environment for my child. I am sure you have heard this from many other parents before, but what you have
created is remarkable.
My daughter currently attends a nearby middle school and will be going into 8th grade. I listen every day to my
daughter tell me about her teachers being irresponsible and losing her work that she has turned in and getting
lower grades as a result. She often tells me how she asks her teachers for help and they dismiss her because they
are too busy at the moment. And sadly, she tells me often of being teased and bullied by other children and,
despite the school's anti-bullying policy, it continues.
In spite all of this, she has been able to maintain a 3.8 grade point average by working twice as hard and staying
focused. It was refreshing to hear you talk about the dedication of your staff to the safety and well being of each
child and the high standards that you employ in all aspects of student life. From what I learned about North Pointe
yesterday, it is exactly what I as a parent have envisioned in a school environment for my child both academically
and socially. If only other public schools had such a high standard, all of our kids would be off to a great start in
their academic careers and in life.
Thank you again, and keep doing what you're doing. You have created a wonderful school system and I can only
hope that my daughter is able to attend North Pointe this next year and benefit from all that it has to offer.
