North Pointe anticipates increased enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year as the
Prep continues to be one of the most acclaimed charter Jr. High and High Schools in the
State of Arizona. With test scores that exceed State standards and national recognition
for its academic excellence, North Pointe is one of the largest and most successful
charter schools in the state.

"While other schools are making cutbacks, our increased enrollment allows us to
continue to expand," said Principal Richard Gow. Unlike some of the other elite charter
schools in the state, the Prep does not attempt to artificially manipulate the type of
student it enrolls. "Our seventh graders do not have to take Latin and our freshmen do
not have to master geometry," continued Principal Gow. "We attract students who desire
an excellent education that includes a rigorous academic curriculum as well as
opportunities to also excel in athletics and the arts and enjoy a culture that features
campus activities that cannot be matched by anyone."

Although North Pointe is one of the largest charter schools in the State, serving Jr. High
and High School students, the class size average is still under 30 students per
classroom.

Academics
North Pointe is one of only seven public high schools in the State of Arizona accredited
by the
North Central Association as a College Prep School. The Prep has a demanding
traditional academic program with a classical emphasis that provides students a solid,
balanced education which utilizes basic time tested knowledge and skills in history,
languages, literature, math, reading, science and the arts that become increasingly
complex throughout the course of study. Standards are set high in the firm belief that
higher standards will lead to higher student achievement. “It’s virtually unheard of for a
school our size to offer comprehensive academic programs at both the regular and
accelerated pace,” said Principal Gow, “It allows students the choice to pursue Honors
or AP in one or more core subject areas and still progress at a regular pace in others."

Athletics
Increased enrollment and the Arizona Interscholastic Association's new alignments and
computerized scheduling has the Prep competing against schools that in the past were
labeled as 4A schools. North Pointe offers 11 Varsity sports and 8 Jr. High sports,
including Jr. High tackle football. The Falcons are the four time defending State
Champions in Coed Competition Cheer and most of their High School teams compete
in the post season and the Jr. High teams often compete in league championship
games.

Arts
The Prep's Performing Arts students are recognized as some of the best performers in
the State winning numerous awards. The Prep's Marching Band and Color Guard
provide unequalled halftime entertainment while the Speech and Debate Team
continues to produce State Champions. The Falcon Players presents seven plays each
year and school's TV station,
preptv, provides coverage of North Pointe events like a
local professional media outlet throughout on-campus broadcasts and preptv.org.

Activities
Every North Pointe activity is designed to provide students the opportunity to develop
relationships and create memories that will last a lifetime. "The fact that our students are
engaged is not by accident," said Principal Gow. "Every activity is intentionally designed
with a purpose. We work very hard at maintaining a culture where students want to be at
the Prep. We have a core belief that a motivated student who wants to be here will learn."
