High School Falcon Players Shows
Beauty and the Beast - When Maurice becomes lost in the woods on his way to the fair, he seeks
shelter in an old castle, but the master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maurice's
daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle's taming of the unfortunate Beast and
his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince is a beloved fairy tale about very different people
finding strength in one another and learning how to love.
A Princess Christmas - The tradition continues as the Prep presents A Christmas Carol. This year’s
twist gathers all ten of the classic Disney Princesses as the central characters of this age-old holiday story.
The evening begins with a parade through Main Street complete with singers, dancers and the band.
However, which princess is it that possesses the miserly qualities of Scrooge? Who will play the roles of
Scrooge’s dear friend Marley or the ghosts of the Christmas Past, Present and Future?
A Midsummer Night's Dream - A Midsummer Night's Dream, William Shakespeare’s most popular
comedy, deals with the universal theme of love and its complications. Told in modern language, this North
Pointe Falcon Players production tells about the adventures of four young people in love and a group of
amateur actors, their interactions with woodland fairies and a duke and duchess. Taking place in a mythical
Athens and an enchanted forest, there is a handsome fairy king, a misguided parent, star-crossed lovers, a
weaver who's transformed into a half-donkey, wood sprites and elves. This work is widely performed
around the world, and no wonder - it's about the world's most popular pastime, falling in love. But as Puck
knows, falling in love can make fools of us all. Magic, action, love and humor are the ingredients for this
unforgettable spell. Will love win out in the end?
High School Marching Band and Color Guard
North Pointe's Marching Band and Color Guard perform during pre-game and halftime of the Prep's home
High School Football games. The pre-game entertainment includes welcoming the team on the field,
energizing the crowd and playing the National Anthem. This year's halftime show, The Glove, will feature the
music of Michael Jackson.
High School Speech & Debate Team
Although the Falcons' Speech and Debate team has placed second in the State Tournament for the past
several years, team members have won 12 State Championships and have competed at Nationals for the
past two years.
High School Competition Percussion Team
North Pointe's Competition Percussion Team continues their cinderella run placing second at this year's
State Championships in only their second year of competing. They took sixth place in 2012.
High School Competition Color Guard
In only their first year competing, the Prep's Competition Color Guard placed 10th at the State
Championships.

Jr. High Falcon Players
Wizard of Oz - Follow us down the yellow brick road in the Prep’s thrill-filled version of The Wizard of Oz.
When the lights go up, Dorothy finds herself in the Land of Oz being hailed by the Munchkins for saving
them from the Wicked Witch of the East - a pretty bewildering experience for a little girl from Kansas.
However, Dorothy and her little dog Toto bravely set out to find a way back home and meet some very noble
friends. Together, they share frightening experiences that forge a great bond among them. Will their quest
to find the great Wizard of Oz result in them achieving their goals? Will Dorothy find her way back home?
Cinderella - When the king proclaims a ball will be held so his son can find a wife, the entire kingdom is
in a tizzy, especially Cinderella's step-mother who is thrilled her two daughters are invited. However, they
are all aghast when Cinderella is presented with an invitation. When Cinderella arrives at the ball, the
prince is enthralled and never leaves her side, much to the chagrin of the step-sisters. However, at the
stroke of midnight she follows her Fairy God Mother’s instructions and flees, leaving one of her glass
slippers behind. Eventually, the prince finds Cinderella and insists she try the slipper on and, of course, as
in all good fairy tales, they lived happily ever after…except for the horrid step-sisters!
Jr. High Speech Team
The Jr. High Speech team begins practicing at the beginning of the second semester and competes
in late Spring.

Arts Philosophy
The Prep provides Arts students venues where they can express
themselves and share their gift with family, friends, and the
community. Whether it's acting in a play, playing an instrument,
singing a solo, producing a video, or presenting a painting, Prep Arts
students are encouraged to explore, develop, and perform.
Arts Core Values
The Prep is committed to four core Arts values:
1. Develop each performer's full potential in the area of their gifting.
2. Develop an appreciation for the Arts in each performer.
3. Provide performers with the facilities and equipment that will
enable them to perform at the highest possible level.
4. Celebrate the success and achievements of each performer.
Participation Policies
Students and parents agree to abide by the Prep's Extracurricular
Participation Policies which appear in North Pointe's Student
Handbook, pages 27-30.
State Champions
North Pointe's Speech and Debate Team has captured several
second place finishes at the State Championships. However,
individual performers have captured State Titles in Speech and
Debate and Stephen Hutson was named a State Champion all four
years in band.

Arts Groups
While some schools are minimizing their arts programs due to
budget shortages, North Pointe continues to expand the Prep's class
and extra curricular arts opportunities. During the school day, Prep
students can be involved in band, drumline, guitar, piano, choir,
theatre, drawing, water coloring, and 3D art classes. After school,
students can join various arts groups including the Falcon Players,
the Marching Band and Color Guard, the Speech and Debate Team,
the Competition Percussion Team, the Competition Color Guard, and
preptv. Performers can also audition for the On Stage venues where
students perform during lunch, before big evening events, and during
Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Basketball home games. Over the past
eight years, the Prep has won 17 Arts State Championships.
