Jr. High Mathematics Course Descriptions
Math classes are determined by ability not grade. Prior to enrollment, each new student will take a math placement test. Although a student's placement test score will
determine their math class, teachers monitor student progress at the beginning of the semester to ensure that math placement test scores accurately reflect student ability.
Students whose math placement test scores are below the skills necessary for Introduction to Saxon must pass the course during summer school. Students enrolling
mid-year whose math placement test scores are below the skills necessary for Introduction to Saxon will have the class twice a day (instead of an elective) until their grade
consistently reflects a "C" or higher. After school math tutoring is mandatory for students receiving "D" and "F's."
