North Pointe's Marching Band and Flagline perform at Disneyland
The North Pointe Band and Flagline took their annual trip
to Disneyland to perform at a workshop in Disney’s back
stage area.
Doug Strawn, former “Carpenters” band member, worked
with the band for an hour and a half. The band recorded
sound track excerpts from, “Emperor’s New Groove”,
“Atlantis”, and “Dinosaur”.
The Flagline was involved in an intense workshop also.
Linda Love-Simmons, a choreographer for Disney and
Mattel, taught the steps to a Disney Parade routine set to
The Lion King’s, “Hakuna Matata.” After the workshop,
Simmons told the Prep's Flagline that they were “the best
Flagline she has ever worked with!"
After the workshops, the students hit the park for 12 hours
of fun. It was Senior Kim See’s first trip to Disneyland and
she had “the best time ever!”
