JV Boys Volleyball 2009-2010 Match Summaries
Match 1 at Williams Field High School
The team played hard in their first game against William’s Field, but nerves held them back from a win, losing 15-25 and 20-25. Serving did not prove to
be an issue as the Falcon’s missed only a total of three, with Brandon McKinney leading with a run of six serve points.  Angel Bernal and Sean O’
Donahue helped out the team with several strong blocks.

Match 2 at Combs High School
The Falcon Boy’s Volleyball team started out strong against Combs, winning the first set 25-14, but couldn’t keep the momentum and lost the final two
sets. Froilan Maldonado and Fadi Sayegh lead the team with solid sets, while Corey McKinney scored points with several well-placed hits and tips.  
Brandon McKinney again helped out with his powerful serves.

Match 3 vs Williams Field High School
The Falcons started out strong winning the first set 25-10. The team played well together and had some great serving from Froilan Maldonado and
Brandon McKinney. Angel Bernal displayed great effort with his digs and spikes as well. The team lost a little momentum after missing some serves in
the 2nd set losing 25-13. They regained their confidence and finished the last set strong with good serves and teamwork.  It was close set for the
Falcons but they couldn’t put it together in time losing 15-7.

Match 4 at Notre Dame Prep
North Pointe Prep lost in two games to Notre Dame Prep, losing 7-25 and 8-25.  Sean O’ Donahue made several incredible blocks, while Corey
McKinney and Gavin Haggerty backed him up with great digs and passes.  Fadi Sayegh helped anchor the team with his solid sets and saves.

Match 5 vs Notre Dame Prep
The North Pointe Falcons took on Notre Dame Prep at home and put up a strong fight.  After losing the first set 9-25, the Falcons rallied and nearly
took the second set, losing just 22-25.  Corey McKinney led the team with a slough of tips and hits, while Angel Bernal came up with amazing digs.  Both
players also had several blocks and setting by Fadi Sayegh kept the team hitting away.

Match 6 at Notre Dame Prep
The third match against Notre Dame Prep started off well for North Pointe as the Falcons took the first set 25-22.  They were unable to keep up the
momentum, however, and lost the second game 10-25 and the third 2-15.  Damian Bia assisted the team with a string of strong serves, while Angel
Bernal kept up the blocks.  Solid passing by William Payne and last-minute digs by Corey McKinney were also highlights of the match.

Match 7 vs Combs High School - April 27th, 4 pm
In their last match of the season, the Falcons played strong against Combs High School.  The first game went back and forth, with Sean O’Donahue and
Angel Bernal blocking well against Combs and leading their team to win 28-26.  The second game, despite great back row plays by Gavin Haggerty,
went to Combs at 17-25.  In the third and final game of the match, Corey Mckinney led the team with tips and saves, but in the end the Falcons lost to
Combs, 7-15.

As a general rule, preptv does not post the last name of elementary students while identifying their participation in a school activity or promoting their accomplishment in Knowledge, Character,
and Leadership.  Likewise preptv does not include any reference to a student in a posted jpeg or mpeg image file name.  These precautions should eliminate parental concerns about a child being
identified as the result of an Internet search.  However, in the event that a parent is uncomfortable with a posted text or image, preptv will remove the text or image upon notification.
